I'm Richard Bales, based on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia.

I'm a professional freelance photographer, videographer, storyteller, content creator, and digital editor — passionate, dedicated, and committed to what I do. I specialize in landscape, commercial real estate, and food photography & videography.

From a young age, I’ve been drawn to nature and travel. The love of travelling and exploring has been a constant in my life, my passion for photography grew naturally from a desire to capture the places I visited and the impressions they left on me. For me, travel isn’t a reward for working — it’s an education for living.

As a naturally anxious person, I found that landscape photography became a powerful outlet. It taught me patience, presence and the value of slowing down. I’ll never forget the sense of tranquility I felt the first time I attempted landscape photography — arriving at a location before sunrise, carefully composed my frame, and waited for the light unfold. That was the moment I realized where my true passion lies. It offered me the time to reflect and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.

Landscape photography continues to push me beyond my comfort zone to discover places I never knew existed. It gets me out of bed at ungodly hours and reminds me to appreciate the world — even when I’m not shooting. There’s nothing like the feeling of finally capturing that perfect moment after scouting for days and facing unpredictable weather. It’s absolutely invigorating.

In 2020, I expanded my creative focus into commercial photography & videography. working with real estate agencies real estate, hotels, luxury homes, interior designers and architects, Airbnb listings, travel and tourism, restaurants, and food brands. Creating modern, strategic visual content including aerial footage designed to elevate brand presence, strengthen social media impact, and maximize return on investment.

My journey is driven by commitment and determination, values that push me to continually refine my craft and evolve both creatively and professionally.

These days, my focus is on travelling, photographing landscapes, and embracing the inspiration that comes from experiencing new places and cultures. There’s a special kind of happiness that comes from being out in the natural world.

I believe growth comes from constant learning and self-improvement, every experience is an opportunity to improve, and every frame is a chance to tell a story with purpose and precision.

Ultimately, this path has helped me find a unique balance between photography, nature, and inner peace. My mission is not only to showcase the beauty of the world but to present it in most compelling from.
